about

For this record all you hear is a single electric guitar through standard electric guitar stompboxes into the looper and recording equipment. No hex pickups, synthesizers or other equipment was used. This was recorded in 2007 and 2008 so immediately prior to me owning the VG-99 hex guitar system. Everything you hear is improvised, no undos, no loop editing, just pure live improvised performance warts and all. This project was only released almost 10 years later with the advent of modern DSP based de-noising software to reduce hiss and noise which would have made release of the project questionable at the time it was recorded. This record was the first project in the Ionosphere Casting Shadows series of recordings and I feel historically it's probably interesting for those who wondered about the genesis of the project which developed in parallel around the time I did Daybreak Winds. This record also shows the absurd powers of the Lexicon Vortex processor (almost an instrument unto itself) which was responsible for anything that sounds synthesizer like.
